FORT BEND COUNTY, TX – On December 7, 2017, County Judge Bob Hebert visited Fort Bend County Animal Services (FBCAS) to congratulate the department on their recent recognition from the Petco Foundation. In the wake of Hurricane Harvey, the Petco Foundation delivered more than $2.5 million to Houston-area animal welfare organizations.

FBCAS received a $75,000 investment in recognition of the lifesaving efforts done at the shelter. The investment will help fund lifesaving programs planned for the shelter including increasing community awareness of pets and encouraging participation in shelter events and activities, allocating funds to the medical team, providing resources to field officers, and funding pilot programs to increase lifesaving efforts for community cats.

County Judge Bob Hebert said, “We greatly appreciate the Petco Foundation’s support of our Animal Services activities. This money will help us save the lives of many animals and let them find loving homes”.
