FORT BEND COUNTY, TX – During Commissioners Court on August 4, 2015, the City of Simonton presented the Fort Bend County Road & Bridge Department with a proclamation. Road & Bridge excelled in their assistance to the City of Simonton during a period of extreme emergency, May 27th to June 5th, when the Brazos River threatened to flood much of the city. The Fort Bend County Road & Bridge employees under the leadership of Marc Grant, Greg Zook and Roby Tate worked tirelessly day and night, and without complaint, throughout this time of emergency. Fort Bend County Road & Bridge Commissioner Marc Grant said, “I want to thank the City of Simonton for the Proclamation and I accept this honor on behalf of the Road & Bridge Department as well as Fort Bend County. I also want to thank the Office of Emergency Management, the Sheriff’s Office, and the FBC Drainage Department. This effort was another example of how the cooperative agreements between Fort Bend County and Cities work well together.”
