PRESS RELEASE

For Immediate Release

Fort Bend County to Break Ground at the New Sienna Library

Fort Bend County will officially break ground at the new Sienna Branch Library, to be located at 8411 Sienna Springs Blvd. in Missouri City, on Wednesday, September 10, at 9:30 am. The library is a partnership with the Houston Community College System, and will be the first joint-use facility in the Fort Bend County library system.

Designed by STOA/Golemon/Bolullo Architects of Houston, the 2-story building will be approximately 45,000 square feet in size. The library is part of a $130-million bond referendum approved by voters in May 2006, which included three county library projects — the Sienna Branch Library, a library in partnership with the University of Houston campus in Sugar Land, and renovations at George Memorial Library in Richmond.

The groundbreaking ceremony will be officiated by County Judge Bob Hebert and Precinct 2 Commissioner Grady Prestage, who will be joined by area dignitaries in celebrating the start of construction. All area residents are invited to come out and take part in the festivities.
