FORT BEND COUNTY, TX – Monday, September 16, 2008 and Tuesday September 17, 2008, Fort Bend County’s Public Transportation Department will operate a special park and ride service into the Texas Medical Center. This service is being provided to benefit doctors, nursing and other hospital staff as well as people who need medical care.
Fort Bend County residents can access the service at the University of Houston Sugar Land Park and Ride lot located on University Boulevard and Highway 59. Morning routes will start from Sugar Land between 5:30 a.m., and 8:20 a.m. Afternoon routes will start from the Medical Center between 3:40 p.m. and 7:05 p.m. Please note that signs are not posted at the park and ride as they were destroyed during Hurricane Ike and some of the buses being used may not have Texas Medical Center Express signs on them. Fares are $3.50 each way with exact change only. Fort Bend County Express tickets will also be accepted. The Hurricane Ike Specialty Service schedule is posted below:
