FORT BEND COUNTY, TX – In Commissioners Court on November 4, 2014, Fort Bend County Road and Bridge Commissioner Marc Grant received the first ever Road Administrator of the Year Award from the Texas Association of County Engineers and Road Administrators (TACERA). TACERA is a non-profit organization that advocates for technical and professional assistance to county employees charged with constructing and maintaining county roadways. The President of the association, Michael Shannon, presented the award. Marc Grant was appointed FBC Road and Bridge Commissioner in 2000 to manage the operation of maintaining and improving the county’s network of roads and bridges. Road and Bridge manages the maintenance and safety of over 1700 miles of county roadways, 210 county bridges, 10,000 signs, and 72 traffic signals and counting. Marc Grant said, ““This is not an ‘I’ award, it is a ‘We’ Award. It would not be possible without the support of Commissioners Court, county departments and 150 hardworking employees in my department. I am honored to accept this award on behalf of all of us. ”
