FORT BEND GREEN AWARDED 10000 FOR THE KBR TRAIL ON THE BRAZOS

FORT BEND COUNTY, TX- Fort Bend Green, a Non-Profit Organization created last year at the request of  County Judge Bob Hebert, was recently notified that they will receive $10,000 from  KBR as a part of the 2010 Philanthropic Giving Plan.  KBR received a 300% increase in requests over last year from nonprofits and educational organizations for consideration.  KBR received $1.8 Million in requests from educational organizations and will fund $434,000.  They received $997,000 in requests from health organizations and will fund $315,501.  In all, $6.8 Million in proposals were submitted.  Fort Bend Green Board President, John VanDeWiele stated, “We are thrilled to of been considered and chosen for this funding of the Lower Brazos River Canoe Trail Project.  We will use the funds to create two canoe/kayak access points and “KBR sponsored Kiosks” that will become an integral part of the regional Brazos River Trail. Fort Bend Green will continue to facilitate the planning and development of green space and expound on partnering with other agencies to improve green space throughout Fort Bend County.”
