Fort Bend County, TX – Fort Bend County leaders are pleased to announce the Grand Opening and Ribbon- Cutting Ceremony for the newly constructed Fort Bend County Pinnacle Senior Center, 10:00 –11:30 a.m. Friday, February 14, located at 5525-C Hobby Road, Houston, TX.77053 (Across from Christa McAuliffe Middle School)
County and City Officials are happy to officially introduce the latest joint project between Fort Bend and the City of Houston Housing and Community Development to the community. “We are delighted about the construction of this new state of the art facility and that we can provide a place that Fort Bend County senior’s will be proud to visit”, said Precinct Two Commissioner Grady Prestage. “We are delighted that District K Council member Larry Green, Neal Rackleff, Director City of Houston Housing and Community Development, City of Houston Health and Human Services Department representatives and other distinguished members of the City of Houston and Fort Bend County will be on hand to offer a few remarks regarding the PINNACLE Senior Center of Fort Bend County and assist with the ribbon-cutting”.
The 10,000 sq. ft. LEED facility, a first for Fort Bend, officially opened its doors to the public on January 21, 2014 and is operated by Fort Bend County Health and Human Services Department under the direction of Mary deVignes- Kendrick, MD. The Center amenities include a fully equipped exercise room with treadmills, ellipticals, full circuit training stations, Wi-Fi internet café and library, a large multi-purpose room, kitchen, as well as dental, and wellness clinics.
The City of Houston Health and Human Services Department is partnering with Fort Bend County to provide Public Health Nursing, Wellness, and Dental Services. Services offered at the Center are FREE for Fort Bend /Houston residents 50 plus and will include: preventive healthcare, dental services, physical/social activities, and access to other county resources.
The Center is open from 7:30 am- 4:30 pm Monday – Friday. “This facility along with the available programs and services will assist our seniors to maintain their independence, dignity and quality of life.
