John Oldham is Fort Bend Countys new Elections Administrator Designee

Mr. John Oldham brings Fort Bend County over twenty years of experience in the field of U.S. Elections, and began as the County’s Elections Administrator designee on June 2nd.  Officially, he will become the Elections Administrator effective July 2, 2008.

Prior to his current activities as an independent contractor for both his former employer and for various election jurisdictions, Mr. Oldham worked as Regional Sales Manager, Account Manager, and Illinois State Manager for Election Systems & Software (ES&S).  ES&S is an Omaha-based company that provides systems used to manage all stages of elections including voter registration, ballot creation, voting, and tabulation. The Company’s products include voting terminals with features such as touch screens and paper audits, as well as ballot counters.

Mr. Oldham was also Regional Sales Manager with ES&S’ predecessor company, Business Records Corporation of Dallas, Texas; served as an Adjunct Instructor at Shawnee Community College; and held the elected office of County Clerk & Recorder of Massac County, Illinois.

Fort Bend County Judge and Elections Commission Chairman Robert Hebert said “We’re excited to have someone with Mr. Oldham’s credentials and experience join the Elections Team at Fort Bend County.  He has worked with Elections Administrators in twenty different states, including Texas.  His advanced knowledge of various voting systems and his experience as an elected official will serve him well in working with our appointed and elected officials.”

Mr. Oldham earned his BA in Public Relations from Southern Illinois University with minors in Government and Journalism, and his AA degree from Shawnee Community College in Ullin, Illinois.  He also completed post-graduate studies at Southern Illinois.
