FORT BEND COUNTY –
Electrical outages continue to be a problem in the county with the cities of Missouri City, Stafford and Arcola being the hardest hit. There is good information on the CenterPoint website which is updated daily with outages by zip codes ww.CenterPointEnergy.com/stormcenter. City of Rosenberg says they are doing much better and have only spots of outages. Fort Bend County Precinct 2 and Precinct 3 Justice and Service Center remain without power and will not be open on Thursday. Two County Libraries remain closed until futhure notice; Bob Lutts-Fulshear Branch and First Colony in Sugar Land. The Points of Distribution list for tomorrow includes the following: * Arcola: Arcola City Hall, 13222 Highway 6 South — ice, water, and food. * Stafford: Southern Ice Cream Corp., 13755 Greenland Drive — ice, water, and food. * Sugar Land: Mercer Stadium, 16403 Lexington Blvd. — water and ice. Debris Management started today with pickup throughout the county in the first round of pickup. Citizens need to place the debris at the curb and do not place in bags. There is now a debris link map on the County’s website providing a map which shows which areas have been completed and instructions for preparing debris on private property for pickup and disposal. County Judge Hebert was encouraged today that the process of recovery was moving forward because representatives from the Office of the Governer, Emergency Management are ready to tour Fort Bend County to begin the assessment of damages to public facilities. “This is a step forward in overcoming the damages of Hurricane Ike”, said Judge Hebert.
