For Immediate Release

Rosenberg Point of Distribution Operation Closed;

Other Facilities Open

FORT BEND COUNTY, TX – The Point of Distribution (POD) site located at the Lowe’s store at the intersection of the Southwest Freeway (Highway 59) and Highway 36 in Rosenberg will close at 7:00 p.m.  The City of Rosenberg has no plans to re-open this POD.  All the other PODs in Fort Bend County will open again Wednesday morning sometime after 10:00 a.m. The locations that will re-open include:

* Arcola: Arcola City Hall, 13222 Highway 6 South — ice, water, and food.

* Stafford: Southern Ice Cream Corp., 13755 Greenland Drive — ice, water, and food.

* Sugar Land: Mercer Stadium, 16403 Lexington Blvd. — water and ice.

* Missouri City: City Hall, 1522 Texas Parkway — water and ice.

Mayor Allen Owen of Missouri City reports that he “commandeered” the Chevron station at the intersection of FM 1092 and Highway 6. The station will be fueled overnight, and it is set to open on Wednesday, September 17, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The station will be able to accept debit and credit cards ONLY.
