Schneider Electric PR

June 27, 2017

FORT BEND COUNTY, TX – On June 27th, Schneider Electric employees presented a $38,964 rebate to Fort Bend County. The County received the rebate as a result of its innovative multi-phase energy efficiency program with Schneider Electric. The County plans to reinvest the money from the rebate back into its long-term growth and sustainability plan.

Fort Bend County entered into a third phase public-private partnership with Schneider Electric in June of 2016, to leverage the County’s energy budget to fund much-needed energy and infrastructure upgrades designed to save money and improve the facilities for its community members. Notable improvements include modernizing the jail facilities to significantly simplify operations and replace failing systems. Thanks to the energy efficiency program, these improvements were accomplished with no new taxes or increased fees to residents.

This energy efficiency project will generate approximately $8,224,838 million in energy savings over the life of the project. Additionally, the project is expected to reduce Fort Bend County’s utility budget, saving more than $233,581 in annual energy costs.

“The energy efficiency and capital reinvestment program has already fostered a positive impact to the county facility environment through state of the art technology improvements,” said Debra Jones, Sr. Energy Solutions Specialist, Schneider Electric.
