FORT BEND COUNTY, TX –
County Fair – Fort Bend County Fair will proceed as planned with Fair Day on Friday, September 26, 2008 County Libraries – Bob Lutts-Fulshear Branch Library will open to the public on Friday. Fines will be waived for all library materials due from Sep 10 through Sep 22. Items checked out with due dates of Sep 16, 17, 18 and 19 will be extended for seven days from each of those due dates FEMA Assistance Applications – All Fort Bend County libraries, except the First Colony Branch, will have computers available for those needing to fill out FEMA applications. Library staff will also be available to assist in the process. Printing will be free for those making FEMA applications. Please note that the application process is lengthy, so be prepared to wait. County Facilities Closures – Precinct 2 Justice and Service Center and Precinct 3 Justice and Service Center will be closed through Friday. Power Outages – Currently 31% of the county is still experiencing power outages or 57,000 customers. Attorney General Consumer Hotline –The Office of the Attorney General has announced extended hours during the emergency for its Consumer Complaint Hotline, (800) 252-8011. Call between 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. to report price gouging on necessities, including groceries, clothing, medical supplies, lodging, repair work and fuel during and after such crises. Complaints can be made on-line 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, on the OAG website. The Website can be accessed at www.texasattorneygeneral.gov.
