Fort Bend County, TX- Tropical Storm Edouard continues to advance toward the Texas coastline with a projected landfall in Galveston County as a strong Tropical Storm or possibly a Category 1 hurricane. Fort Bend County officials are in a state of readiness due to the expected inclement weather from Tropical Storm Edouard, which is anticipated to come ashore early Tuesday morning. Fort Bend Officials are expecting Tropical Force Winds to arrive early afternoon on Tuesday.
Residents should make preparations by securing anything loose outdoors such as garbage cans, patio furniture, gas grills, hanging plants and should keep garage doors closed. If your home is vulnerable to rising water, move valuables and furniture to a highter level and place valuable documents in air tight plastic containers. Rainfall is expected to be approximately 3 to 5 inches with isolated amounts up to 10 inches. The Office of Emergency Management is activated at this time and will be staffed overnight.
